Brian is a proven, skilled, and experienced financial leader with strategic, operational, financial, investment, enterprise risk, and compliance expertise.
Having held various management roles, he is skilled in both the insurance and public accounting industries. In addition, Brian leads Northwood’s IT and facilities departments on key strategic and operational initiatives.
Notably, the tenets of The Northwood Idea and the University’s Code of Ethics are well-aligned with Brian’s values and personal philosophy. He has a passion for organizations like Northwood that enable individuals and businesses to put their entrepreneurial spirit into action and progress with their initiatives. He fully supports The Northwood Idea and is strongly drawn to Northwood’s Code of Ethics, which advances the University’s mission, vision, and values. The tenet “achievement” resonates most with him because he appreciates the importance of persistence, determination, and effort to achieve one’s goals. He believes the success of one team member is a success for the entire team.
Before joining Northwood University, Brian served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary and as a Member of the Board of Directors of Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company and its five subsidiaries. In addition, he served as the Treasurer and was a Member of the Board of Directors for the Frankenmuth Insurance Foundation. Further, he was a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP managing large engagement teams, including coordination among all service lines (audit, tax, information technology, and actuarial).
Brian earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Grand Valley State University and holds a Certified Public Accountant designation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Brian is a past recipient of the RUBY (Recognizing the Upward, Bright, and Young) Award, which recognizes young professionals in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
