My Teaching Philosophy
When it comes to the field of accounting and income taxation I think that one of the better ways to learn is comprised of two parts. The first part is to bring real life experiences into the classroom to help bridge the gab between textbook/classroom and the real world. The second part is a hands on approach to learning. I believe you get a better understanding of how accounting works and how the income tax laws are understood by doing some of the work by hand.
Why I am at NU
I am a big fan of small classroom sizes! I have taught very larges classes some upward of 60+ students and I found that you can’t get to know your students as much and there is not a lot of interaction while in a crowded classroom. So, I do believe that you get a better understanding of the material when taught in smaller sizes.
